Happy Hump Day! You know what this means – the best happy hour specials of the week! 😛
Our fashion style is a strong personal statement. Afterall, clothes are our chosen skin, and we convey our mood and energy through the outfits we pick of the day.
Last Sunday, I was feeling particularly perky and decided to wear one of my favorite dresses. Tattooed with bold violet roses all over, this WYDLR shift dress is eye-catching with ruffles garnished along the neckline.
The mini length of the dress allowed me to be playful with my legs, and I decided to put on these Jeffrey Campbell gladiator sandals.
To match the grey suede shoes, I stacked my fingers with metal toned rings, and paired with a silver headband.
I was never big on accessories. Growing up, my dad always taught me to be a simple person, and I still enjoy going out with only the essentials – a watch, a credit card, a phone and my keys. As I am learning more about pairing, I’d like to share my tips on investing in your first set of accessories.
For your first set of accessories, always invest in a neutral color because it is versatile.
Before deciding on a neutral color, I would first organize the closet based on colors. Then I would step back, scan and see what color of clothes I have the most. In my case, I love blue and white, and so I decided to pick out silver and grey to compliment the cool undertone. Of course, neutral colors with a warm undertone such as brown and gold accessories will make an obvious contrast, and work just as well!
Neutral colors (with a warm undertone): Gold / Brown / Nude / Rose Gold
Neutral colors (with a cool undertone): Silver / Taupe / Grey / Black / White
